We made Christmas cookies today so we could put together tins of cookies for my daughter’s teachers for their gift. She has 3 teachers this year and I have no idea what to get them. The two women are pretty easy, but she has one male teacher. She’s never had a male teacher before and I haven’t a clue what to get him. I figured everyone likes cookies. We made 3 cookies and a pan of fudge. She had swim lessons this morning and didn’t want me to start without her because she wanted to help. I use the term “help” very loosely. I waited, but only because I was nearly finished with a really good book. Ha ha!
By the time she got home from swim, it was nearly noon. Then she had to take a shower, because she felt “disgusting”. Good grief. I’m starting without you. I mixed one of the cookie batters because it had to go in the refrigerator for a couple hours. She was still in the shower, so I folded the laundry. Then I had some lunch. She finally came downstairs. Then she had to call her bestie. OK, I’m starting the next batch. Well, you can see how my day went with her “helping”. Usually she wants to at least put some of the ingredients into the mixing bowl, but today she pretty much just sat on the floor and watched me. Her idea of helping was just helping eat them. Then she was too full for dinner. Big surprise.
She did help me put them in the tins for the teachers though. And she did the massive pile of dishes. I REALLY appreciated that because my back is killing me. I hope the teachers like them. And we have plenty of leftovers.
